60 women abducted by bokoharam in adamawa

Sixty women were reportedly abducted by suspected members of the deadly Boko Haram sect at Waga Mangoro and Garta villages, both in troubled Adamawa State during a fresh attack.Forty of the women were said to have been abducted in Waga Mangoro and the other 20 were forcefully taken away from Grata.Some of the fleeing residents from the area, who called journalists in Yola on the telephone lamented that scores of insurgents riding motorcycles and driving vans had invaded their towns.The fleeing residents while lamenting the capture of the two towns, said they were able to sneak out of the captured towns on Tuesday, but disclosed that their villages were ravaged on Saturday.One of those that was about to flee the area, Tizhe Kwada told journalists that the area had been under the control of the insurgents for about two months now.He said that though one of the attacked towns, Garta had been under what could be termed as the control of the insurgents for sometimes now, but that did not stop them from overrunning it and carting away the young women.Kwada claimed that the insurgents cordon off the entire town and went from one house to another in Garta in search of young women who they took in their vans to an unknown destination.He said, “The insurgents are still in the area. And they have slaughtered many men in Garta and abducted many young women. We also heard from residents of Wagga that they killed two men and took 40 women away from there.”A community leader from Michika, a neighbouring town to the two attacked towns, Emmanuel Kwache, while confirming the incident to journalists in Yola on Wednesday said, “I got the information from villagers in the area that the rampage was still in progress.”But when he was contacted, the Chairman of Madagali Local Government Area, James Watharda, said “I had all along been in Yola since the insurgents took over the area and as such I can speak little of happening in the area.

A Brazilian Jujitsu instructor by the name of Daryell Dickson Menenzes Xavier gave himself up to the authorities and confessed to sexually assaulting and murdering his own son at the mere age of twelve months old. He was then incarcerated in a Taguatinga prison for thirty days to await his trial for the disgusting crime.However, word of what Daryell had done quickly spread through the prison, and apparently his fellow inmates weren’t very impressed with his actions. In a sort of triumphant vigilante mission, a gang of 20 prisoners cornered Daryell and each took a turn raping and torturing him, sending him to the prison hospital where medical staff had to give him multiple stitches – I’m sure you can figure out where he needed them.After being discharged from the hospital and sent back into the general prison population, the same gang of inmates raped him again. Prison staff was alerted to this second wave of sexual assault when they noticed bloodstains on the backside of his prison uniform.These events have split people into two groups – those who are shocked and disgusted by what is happening to Daryell, claiming this kind of brutal and horrific ‘vigilante justice’ is unlawful regardless of the victim’s initial crime, and those who are glad to see a child predator reap what he sows like a kind of ‘what goes around comes around’ karma (which I belong to). However outraged or satisfied people might be by Daryell’s story, there hasn’t been a significant amount of vocal protest in his defense. The cause of Ms Rivers' death is anoxic encephalopathy due to hypoxic arrest during laryngoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with propofol sedation for evaluation of voice changes and gastroesophageal reflux disease."The manner of death is therapeutic complication. Nigeria hopes girls will be released on tuesday

Nigeria aims to have secured the release of 200 girls kidnapped by Islamist Boko Haram militants by Tuesday, a senior source at the presidency told Reuters on Saturday, although he declined to comment on where the transfer would take place."I can confirm that FG (the federal government) is working hard to meet its own part of the agreement so that the release of the abductees can by effected either on Monday or latest Tuesday next week," the source told Reuters by telephone.The head of Nigeria's military, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, announced on Friday that authorities had reached a deal with Boko Haram for a ceasefire that would enable the release of the girls, who were kidnapped while taking exams in a secondary school from the remote northeastern town of Chibok in April.Officials at the presidency and the military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Boko Haram, which conveys messages in videotaped speeches by a man claiming to be its leader, Abubakar Shekau, has also not yet commented on the ceasefire.Some Nigerians are likely to greet claims of a ceasefire with scepticism after five years of violence. Boko Haram in talks with FG

Islamist militant group Boko Haram is in talks with the federal government to releasemore than 200 girls abducted six months ago and negotiate a cease-fire to a deadlyinsurgency that has claimed thousands of lives.An adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan and a man calling himself the secretary-general of Boko Haram told VOA Thursday that discussions are under way in SaudiArabia, aided by high level officials from Chad and Cameroon.Boko Haram’s Danladi Ahmadu, who is in Saudi Arabia, said the girls are “in goodcondition and unharmed.”Ahmadu would not elaborate on the conditions under which the girls would be freed.Riyadh is not involved in the negotiations.On April 14, dozens of Boko Haram fighters stormed a secondary school in the remotenortheastern village of Chibok, kidnapping around 270 girls. Ebola: Morocco will not be hosting 2015 AFCON anymore

In a shocking twist of events, the Confederation of African football (CAF) is expected to look for a new host for the 2015 African Nations Cup as agreed hosts, Morocco, on Thursday, announced that they will no longer be hosting the bi-annual football tournament.The North African country, who interestingly will be hosting the FIFA World Club tournament, had earlier asked CAF to postpone the tournament due to the spread of Ebola virus in parts of West Africa.However, the continental football body insisted that the tournament would go ahead in January 2015 as originally scheduled. It was in this light that Morocco has now informed CAF that the tournament poses health and security risk to its citizens if it should hold on the earlier agreed date. And since both parties could not reach a compromise, they are no longer interested in hosting the competition.Morocco’s withdrawal puts the leadership of CAF in a desperate position. With less than three months to go to the kickoff of the competition, the continental football governing body is yet to announce replacement for the North African country.Already, host of the 2013 edition, South Africa are said to be on standby to host the tournament while Ghana is also said to be ready to host the football showpiece.

Man rapes lover's daughters, infects them with HIV

A 32-year-old man, Mr. Terkura Iorpuu, was on Thursday arraigned before a chief magistrate’s court in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, for raping and infecting two young girls with HIV. The two victims, aged eight and six, were the daughters of his lover, Mrs. Mson Tor, both the rapist and the mother of the two minors had been HIV positive for over a year and had been using anti-retroviral drugs.It was learnt that the bubble burst after the kids started walking in an unusual manner and were subsequently taken to Hemko Hospital, Makurdi for medical examination. After the test, it was discovered that the girls had been defiled through “forceful penetration”. Medical examination also showed that the two sisters were HIV positive.The victims, when interviewed, revealed that it was their mother’s boyfriend that raped them.The magistrate, Lilian Tsumba, adjourned till December 4 for further mentioning and ordered that the accused be remanded in prison.

NFF sack Keshi

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in the early hours of Thursday have announced the contract termination of Coach Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles head coach.After a long hours meeting of the Executive board members held at the Transcrop hilton hotel in Abuja the board unanimously agreed to part away with the Big Boss and his technical crew.Speaking with cross section of the press shortly after the meeting at 1am Nigeria time on Thursday, first vice President of the Federation, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi said the Federation appreciated Keshi and will give due support to him and his technical crew.“You could recall Keshi and his technical crewcontract expired after the World cup, and the federation have decided not to renew their contract,” Akinwunmi revealed.“The Federation appreciated his effort for the success he achieved and the development of our football.“We have decided to sponsor him and his technical crew (Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shoromu) to any choice of their coaching school to acquire for more knowledge in the game at our expenses,” Akinwunmi said.Former Niger Tornadoes player, Shaibu Amodu returns as the team interim coach to be assisted with three coaches from the Glo Premier League.“We have two more important matches in thequalifiers which we hope to secure full points, and qualify for the Nations Cup.“Coach Amodu will take over of the team as interim coach, to be assisted by Salisu Yusuf (El Kanemi Warriors) and Gbenga Ogunbote (Sharks FC) while former Green Eagles goalkeeper, Alloy Agu will be the goalkeeper trainer,” the NFF official divulge.Super Eagles will travel next month to faceCongo and host South Africa in Nigeria in the last phase of the qualifiers.

While TMZ claimed Iggy was “fuming mad” at his unflattering photo captioned “Iggy Azalea no makeup,” the Australian rapper refuted it. Alicia Keys leads protest for abducted Chibok girls

New York — Alicia Keys held a protest in New York City on Tuesday to mark the six month anniversary of the day the 200-plus Nigerian schoolgirls were kidnapped by Boko Haram militants. Alicia aimed to raise awareness to educate people about the girls, who were abducted in April.The protest kicked off with Alicia and 30 others at the consulate general of Nigeria, holding signs that read "We Are Here" and "Safe Schools Now!"They chanted "Bring back our girls" and "When do we want them? Now! Now! Alive!" as New Yorkers walked up the street during lunch hour, while others stopped to capture photos and video.Keys, who is pregnant, said on Twitter that she felt touched to take action because she is a mother. Chibok Girls Campaigners Storm Aso Rock

The BringBackOurGirls Coalition said it would march to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday to engage with President Goodluck Jonathan over the 219 Chibok schoolgirls, who have been in Boko Haram captivity for over 180 days.The movement said the purpose of the engagement was to convey the urgency for the immediate rescue of the girls and to hear directly from the President the status of the rescue efforts of the security agencies.The group, in a statement by its Media Coordinator, Rotimi Olawale, on Monday in Abuja, stated that the last 180 days of the girls abduction had been “one of dashed hopes, intense pain and confusion for the families due to the lack of accurate information from the government on the current The BBOG said some parents of the abducted girls would be part of the march to the Aso Rock Villa and also called on concerned members of the public to join the engagement with the President.It said that its members would also engage in what it called a ‘walkathon’ on Wednesday, which would involve walking with red ribbons around the embassies of Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic, as well as the embassies of selected key nations supporting the operation to rescue the girls.
